What Can We Do?
To help ease the environmental impact and pressure on the medical plastics supply that disposable insulin pens have, we are encouraging patients where possible to switch to reusable pens and cartridges.
Why Change?
- Refillable pens last year reduced plastic waste
- Easy to use, unscrew and pop the cartridge in like a battery
- Only the cartridge goes in your sharps bin = less waste
- Less packaging
... May not be for everyone. If you have dexterity problems you may find it harder to switch cartridge.
