    National Blood Bottle Shortage

URGENT MESSAGE TO ALL OUR PATIENTS BLOOD BOTTLES - SUPPLY DISRUPTION We have been notified by NHS England this morning to halt all routine blood testing until 17 September 2021. This is due to a shortage of blood bottles which will remain constrained over the coming weeks. Whilst they anticipate the position will improve from the middle of September, overall supply is likely to remain disrupted. Patients who need to book for routine blood tests can do so but will not be offered an appointment before 17 September 2021. Patients who have been advised by a clinician that they require an urgent blood test can still book this test but please advise the receptionist the clinician has said this is urgent. Warfarin blood tests can still go ahead so please continue to book. Patients who have recently been requested to book their annual health care review can still go ahead and book this but any blood tests required that are deemed as routine will be arranged for after 17 September 2021 onwards. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you but this is beyond our control. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
